MediaTek processors’ credibility has been questioned in the past because they were never as efficient as the Snapdragon counterparts. However, Vivo Y19 pleasantly surprises you with the performance it offers due to the MediaTek Helio P65 chip onboard.
It offers superb features including the 4GB RAM, big 5000mAh battery, 128GB storage and fast charging.
Design and build quality
Vivo Y19 does not flaunt anything special when it comes to design. It is 8.8mm thick due to the large battery inside. The waterdrop notch on the front holds the 16MP camera, plus you get the old-fashioned micro USB port, speaker grill, and a headphone jack at the bottom.
On the right, you get the power and volume buttons, and the left side contains the sim tray, which can accommodate 2 sim cards with plus a microSD card. Apart from that, triple cameras are arranged in a vertical stripe on the rear.
Vivo Y19 comes with a 6.53 inches (16.59 cm) 395 PPI IPS LCD with a pixel density of 395ppi, which is best in class. Bezels are minimal, with a screen to body ratio of 90.3%.
The display is adequately bright, and the sunlight legibility is good. Colors are punchy, and the media experience is enjoyable. It performs well for an IPS panel.
The camera setup of Vivo Y19 is identical to Vivo U20. It has the 16MP primary camera supported by a 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens.
The front 16MP camera does a great job in selfie department and captures enough details while not smoothening your face too much.
Rear primary camera produces colorful images with amazing details. Ultrawide 8MP camera captures more people in one go but since it is only 8MP, you should not expect it to work very well at night. Macro 2MP camera is useless just like Vivo U20.
Here are few camera samples for your reference
Vivo Y19 comes with a 5000mAh large battery coupled with a dual-engine fast charging 18W adapter. The battery will easily last you one and a half days on average usage, and even if you are a heavy user, you won’t need to charge it till the next day.
Furthermore, you can use this Vivo phone as a power bank due to its reverse charging capabilities. Not only do you get an excellent battery life, but you also get an 18W fast charger, which will charge it to 100% in less than 2 hours.
Talking about the performance, you get the octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 processor based on 12nm architecture and is twice as fast as its predecessor P60.
VivoY19 performs flawlessly. You will not witness any lags in daily usage, and it won’t let you down during heavy games either. To keep it short, you will not have any complaints in the performance department.
Apart from the minor cons like the fun touch OS, old design, and micro USB port, we could not find much flaws in Vivo Y19. It is an excellent competition with greatly improved cameras, awesome battery life and an amazing display.
Additionally, MediaTek has answered all the critics with a superb chip. Helio P65 handles all tasks just as you expect. Vivo Y19 ticks all the right boxes and it is easily the best Vivo phone under 15000.
