Best laptop under 1 lakh in India | ASUS zenbook 14 review
Best laptop under 1 lakh in India

Some time ago, ASUS was an emerging Taiwanese company that people had little faith in, but now ASUS has proved itself equal to other brands like HP, DELL, etc., in technology and customer service. This could be your next laptop brand if you are searching for best laptop under 1 lakh.

The ZenBook 14 UX425EA is another amazing offering by ASUS that is one step ahead of other laptops in this price range. No other laptop offers i7 11th gen under 1 lakh rupees. It comes with i7 11th gen processor combined with 512GB SSD and 16 GB LPDDR4X onboard 4267MHz non upgradable RAM for great performance.

Build quality

The ZenBook 14 UX425EA has a very nice and premium feel. The first thing you’re going to notice holding it is a very high-end all-metal design with pine gray finish, which looks very sleek and modern. I like the design, but one thing of note is; it attracts fingerprints very easily; you will be wiping it down quite a bit.

You get one HDMI port on the left. You also get two thunderbolt-4 ports that do data charge and display out. Now the thunderbolt-4 port can support up to two 4k monitors or one 8k monitor. Moving over to the right side, you get a micro SD card reader for storage expansion. There is a USB-A port, which is a welcome addition as well.

Still, one thing missing that you’re going to notice right away, and that is no 3.5 Millimeter audio jack. That’s right; you have to use the included dongle for listening to your favorite music. For me, that’s not a huge deal because I’ve pretty much moved to Bluetooth headphones.

My favorite part of this laptop is a charming display with a very thin side and top bezel, and it also has a full HD resolution that means a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels. That’s a 16:9 aspect ratio, which, of course, is excellent for watching media such as Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube. It has some profound blacks, excellent contrast, good white points, and outstanding color accuracy.

It’s also a matte display, so that means you don’t get any unnecessary glare or reflections, and it is very bright as well at 370 nits. It is a great choice for both indoor and outdoor use.

On top of the screen is a 720p, 30 frames per second, windows hello camera meaning it’s infrared. You can log in with face recognition. It is a decent camera and you can definitely make quality skype calls with it.

Battery life

Where this device really shines is its battery life. It has a 67 watt-hour battery, and it lasted 13 hours and 11 minutes on my continuous web surfing test, definitely giving you all-day battery life. The great news is the included the 65-watt USB-C power adapter, which only takes 1.5 hours to completely charge the battery.

Audio performance

When it comes to the audio, there are two bottom facing speakers, and I would say they’re okay. They’re not the best speakers I’ve ever heard, certainly not the worse. The volume is pretty decent but lacks bass. Overall I would say that it provides you with a decent experience.

Processor and gaming performance

When it comes to performance, the ZenBook did very well, especially because it has integrated XE graphics. That’s a step up from the iris plus graphics from the ice lake processors we saw in the previous generation. You can play some of the titles on lower settings, and you get more playable frames than you did with the integrated iris plus graphics.

Because you are getting the Core i7-1165G7 processor, you will find the video editing experience very smooth. I recommend this laptop for gaming only if you are okay with low frame rates, and gaming is not your priority.

Final thoughts

I personally own this laptop. If you need a laptop with an excellent display, fantastic battery life, buttery smooth performance, an IR camera, and an exceptional keyboard, you should definitely get this laptop. However, if your purpose is to play high-end games at medium to high frame rates, then you should pass on this one.

This is not a detailed review and I have listed the pros and cons below, and if anything listed in cons is unacceptable to you, you should ignore the ZenBook 14 UX425EA.

  • Strong GPU performance
  • Sharp, Bright and Vibrant display
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
  • Use upgradable M.2 SSD storage
  • Long battery life
  • IR camera
  • Very lightweight
  • USB-C adapter and free sleeve in the box
  • RAM and WLAN are not upgradable
  • No 3.5mm audio jack
  • No fingerprint reader
  • Noticeable fan noise

Best laptop under 1 lakh in India | Acer Nitro 5
You are reading “Best laptop under 1 lakh”

We talked about a laptop that is best for productivity. Now let’s talk about a laptop that is equally good for video editing and gaming, i.e. Acer Nitro 5. With 144hz display, i7 10th gen processor and 4GB 1650Ti DDR5 graphics card, this laptop is specially designed for those who want to satisfy their gaming needs along with their work requirements. Let us know in detail about its different components.

So, let’s talk about the design. The first thing you’re going to notice is the brushed design on the sides of the laptop, which is an interesting touch, and the black logo of ASUS that gives it a very stealthy look overall. I think it’s one of the nicest looking gaming laptops in this price segment, and without a doubt, the design does have a resemblance to the Acer predator.

On the left you will get Ethernet port, 2 USB-A ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack and on the right side you will get a Type-C port, an HDMI port and another USB-A port.

The laptop’s display has gotten a considerable upgrade, and it now comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x1080) display with a maximum brightness of 300nits. If you’re planning to do some editing work on the display itself, you’re going to enjoy thoroughly. This display is colour-accurate enough to get the editing job done on your Lightroom or your Premiere Pro.

Other than that, you’re going to enjoy the display for watching videos on Netflix.  It is a beautiful display for gaming because it supports a 144hz refresh rate with 3ms response time. Colour accuracy helps a lot if you’re planning to watch Netflix, or Amazon prime etc.

Processor, storage and RAM

The laptop comes in two variants you have the core i5 10th generation with the 4GB NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti (GDDR5 GPU RAM) and the other one is i7 10th gen processor with NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti. The one we will be mentioning here today is the i7 version of the laptop.  Rest both variants share the same specs. You get 8GB of DDR4 SDRAM which can be upgraded to 32GB, and you also get an M.2 primary slot with 256GB of SSD and 1TB 7200 RPM HDD pre-installed. The best part is you also get extra two slots for storage. You get another end M.2 slot and an HDD slot (HDD slot comes pre-installed with 1TB HDD which can be upgraded further). So, you get a total of 3 storage slots on this laptop. This is what I call future-proofing a laptop.

The 10th generation i7 processor does a great job, and it comes with 6 cores under the hood, and with the 1650Ti, you get excellent performance both in productivity and gaming department. You can enjoy pretty much every single gaming title. Some demanding titles would require you to set the graphics to a minimum or even low.

Keyboard and the trackpad

This is an image of the backlit keyboard on Acer Nitro 5

The keyboard has a 1.6 mm key travel higher than the Chiclet style keyboards you see on an Ultrabook. If you’re a fan of RGB keyboards, look no further. The laptop has support for four-zone RGB, and you can customize the colour whichever way you want with the help of the vector sense.

Don’t worry; the Nitrosense button is also located on the keyboard. All you have to do is press the Nitrosense button, and the app will launch, and then you can customize the lighting whichever way you like.

The trackpad, on the other hand, is lovely. Ii has the windows precision driver, so you don’t have to worry about the tracking experience. Other than that, the palm rejection on the trackpad is reasonably good, but the only thing is that the left and the right click is rigid on the trackpad, so you need a little bit of force to press the left and the right.

This laptop has a 4 cell Lithium Ion battery. The battery life on the laptop under our everyday office use, which involves many video calls and media consumption, lasts up to 5 hours and 30 minutes. If you’re planning to use the laptop for gaming on the go or the GPU intensive tasks, then it may not last that long.

That’s where the laptop has a bit of shortcoming, but chances are you will have to bring your power brick anywhere and everywhere you go. The charging adapter is not too big and is easy to carry.

I wish the laptop had an improvement in the sound department. It does have a speaker at the bottom, and it also is certified by DTS X, which is fantastic.  The thing is that the sound quality isn’t booming. Even at maximum, it won’t satisfy your ears.  It also lacks bass. You will have to keep this in mind while making the purchase decision. You can also refer to the reviews posted on Amazon. If you keep your laptop connected to external speakers all the time, you can choose this one.

Why should you choose this laptop?

The nitro 5 falls under an entry/mid tear gaming laptop where it offers outstanding performance excellent value for money. No other laptops in the market offer up to three storage options and offer a Core i5 or i7 variant.

The fact that you have a colour-accurate display shows that the display is capable of doing editing work on the go and inclusion of 1650Ti means your performance is not going to be an issue even in the gaming department. My recommendation would be to choose the i7 variant if you are looking for the best laptop under 1 lakh.

  • Brilliant IPS display for gaming with 144Hz refresh rate
  • Excellent performance in terms of daily use and gaming
  • 2 additional slots for storage expansion
  • Very good keyboard
  • Robust design for gamers
  • Not very promising battery life
  • Low speaker output

MSI Gaming GF65 Thin Intel Core i7-9750H 9th Gen 15.6-inch Laptop (8GB/512GB NVMe SSD/Windows 10 Home/GTX 1660 Ti, 6GB Graphics): Perfect balance!

MSI Gaming GF65 Thin Intel Core i7 | Best laptop under 1 lakh in India
Best laptop under 1 lakh in India | MSI gaming G65

This is the new MSI GF65 thin gaming laptop. It’s available with an i7 9th gen processor and 6GB NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti graphics card. This configuration is good enough to play even the most demanding gaming titles at high frame rates. So, if you want a laptop for both editing and gaming, you will not be disappointed in both departments. As far as gaming is concerned, this is easily one of the best laptop under 1 lakh.

Build quality

So first of all, this is unmistakably a gaming laptop. It’s pretty chunky, and everything is red, but MSI has done an excellent job of giving it a more premium feel with the brushed metal finish, no crazy RGB, and weighing just 1.86 kilograms 4.1 pounds. It’s surprisingly lightweight for a 15.6-inch gaming laptop.

Don’t forget you’ve also got this fairly hefty 740-gram power supply to go with it. There’s a little flex in the screen and at the back of the keyboard, plus the top and bottom bezels are quite chunky, but overall, it’s pretty decent looking.

My main complaint, though, is; it picks up smudges, grease marks, and fingerprints incredibly easily. Even a few minutes after unboxing this, I had my greasy paw prints all over it.

Best laptop under 1 lakh

Keyboard and touchpad/trackpad

I do like the keyboard and touchpad. It’s well-spaced out, you get a good amount of travel, and you can also set the keyboard’s backlight to any color you want as long as it’s red. Just kidding! You actually can’t change that, but it’s par for the course with MSI’s more budget range of laptops.

The precision enabled touchpad is also very lovely to use well though the clicks feel a little bit spongy; most of the time you’ll be using a mouse for gaming. With that budget slightly more affordable theme in mind, there’s no face locking or fingerprint reader. Hence, you have to unlock it with your password.

There’s also a good range of ports, and it’s nice to see a couple of USB-C ports on the right. Neither supports Thunderbolt-3, unfortunately. You also get 2 USB-A ports, a headphone jack, and an ethernet port on the right. You get an HDMI port along with a port to plug the power cord on the left.

When you desire a good gaming laptop, you want a high refresh rate display. It’s pretty standard now, actually, and the GF65s 15.6-inch 120 Hertz IPS display does a good job. It’s not going to win any awards. I wouldn’t edit a professionally color-accurate video on it, but despite the average brightness and not so excellent color accuracy to my eye, it still looks good. And with a 120Hz refresh rate, it is outstanding for gaming.

Storage is a little bit of an issue. This laptop only comes with 512GB of NVMe SSD, which is superfast. However, the only issue is that 512 GB of storage in today’s day and age is not enough, and eventually, you will have to upgrade it with an HDD. You can also add another SSD because there are 2 M.2 slots, and one of them will be vacant.

That’s my complaint with this laptop. MSI G65 comes pre-installed with only 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, which of course, is not enough. You can upgrade it to 64GB, though, but that means extra cost. However, this RAM amount will still suffice if you do not perform multiple tasks at once on this laptop. For example, you can expect smooth editing with 8GB RAM only if you do not use google chrome with multiple tabs open.

I would suggest you upgrade the RAM to at least 16GB.

MSI G65 is configured in such a way that you won’t have any problem playing even the most demanding gaming titles. You get the i7 9th gen processor in this laptop, which is a bit outdated, but you will still not have any problem in editing or hefty processor-intensive tasks.

An NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti graphics card helps the i7 processor with 6GB of graphics RAM. With this graphics card’s help, you will be able to play games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield V without any difficulty on medium to high settings.

Battery life and speakers

Battery life is relatively poor though I got just about three and a half hours in my experience with light use. Obviously, you want to plug it in for gaming. The speakers are decent, though, but a pair of headphones is recommended to drown out the fan noise.

Should you buy it?

So, we think GF65 offers a good balance. It may not be the sleekest or the sexiest, or indeed the fastest, but if you want a good gaming laptop for under 1 lakh rupees, you are getting a lot of bang for your buck. If you make a couple of smart upgrades yourself, you could turn this into a really powerful gaming laptop. This is one of the cheapest GTX 1660Ti gaming laptops that you can buy. Would you be tempted to buy one of these? or do you have your eye on a different gaming laptop? Let me know in the comments below.

ASUS TUF Gaming F15 Laptop 15.6″ FHD 144Hz Intel Core i7 10th Gen, GeForce GTX 1650Ti 4GB Graphics (8GB RAM/1TB HDD + 256GB SSD/Windows 10/Fortress Gray/2.3 Kg): Buy it if you are an ASUS fan !

ASUS TUF A15 | Best laptop under 1 lakh rupees
Best laptop under 1 lakh in India | ASUS TUF A15

Here comes another gaming laptop from ASUS. This is ASUS TUF A15. This laptop holds an i7 10th gen processor along with a 4GB 1650Ti graphics card. Let’s talk in detail about the various components.

Build quality

First, let’s talk about the build quality of ASUS TUF A15. This laptop has been given a very sturdy and gaming look, but its entire build is plastic. The plastic quality is excellent, but it would have been nice had ASUS used some metal. There is a very minor flex in the display. So overall, we are happy with the build quality of this laptop. The edges are round, and the placement of the trackpad is also appropriate.

ASUS has provided a 15.6-inch full HD IPS display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It has a response time of just 20ms and the brightness max outs at 250 nits. The viewing angles are perfect, and you will not see any black tint from the sides.

This laptop’s colors are accurate for gaming, but the same cannot be said for video editing. The reason for low color accuracy is the 45% NTSC score, and almost all laptops under 1 lakh have the NTSC of 45%. That is why it is challenging to find good color accuracy in notebooks of this budget.

Keyboard and trackpad

I loved the keyboard of this laptop. ASUS calls it the AURA RGB keyboard. This is a full size RGB keyboard and the RGB is very bright. The typing experience is very smooth and the key travel is great. As per ASUS this keyboard can last up to 20 million key presses.

The touchpad placement in this laptop is excellent, and whenever you do gaming or typing, your hand does not fall on the trackpad. Its response time and smoothness are also perfect. Dedicated left and right-click buttons are provided, which are very sensitive. Overall you will love using the trackpad.

You get dual speakers at the bottom. These speakers are very loud with clear vocals. To keep it short you will get an awesome experience with these speakers and you won’t require external speakers or headphones.

ASUS A15 comes with a 3 cell, 48-watt hours Lithium battery which will last you at least 4 hours with normal to high usage. ASUS should have provided at least a 4-cell battery. The included power brick takes 1.5 to 2 hours to completely charge the laptop.

The laptop comes equipped with an i7 10th gen processor combined with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti 4GB graphics card. The graphics RAM is GDDR6, which is very fast. I guess you know how 1650Ti performs. You can play mediocre gaming titles with ease, but you will have to keep it at low to medium settings for heavy games.

As far as video editing goes, you will be able to edit 1080p videos without any issues. However, you would need to upgrade RAM right away for 4K video editing. After all, you get an i7 10th gen processor. You will not have any complaints in the performance department at the end of the day if you are not a hardcore gamer.

Charging port, LAN, HDMI, 2USB 3.0 ports, USB-C and a headphone jack is provided on the left. You can use the Type-C port to plug the external monitor. The right side is pretty much blank with only one USB 2.0 port.

RAM and Storage

On the storage front, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 laptop comes with 256GB of SSD and 1TB of HDD with an RPM of 5400. The HDD is slow. The SSD is fast because it is a 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD, but the capacity is low. You will have to upgrade the SSD if you wish to launch all your games or apps from the SSD.

Coming to the RAM, the pre-installed RAM is 8GB DDR4 clocked at 2933 MHz, which can be upgraded up to 32GB. You will have to upgrade if you play lots of games. I wish ASUS had provided at least 16GB.

Apart from the components mentioned above, you get a 720P camera, which performs well. You also get next generation wifi-6. You can connect two external monitors to the HDMI and Type-C ports.

Should you buy ASUS TUF A15?

This list contains all the best laptops under 1 lakh rupees. However, you can choose this one if you love ASUS laptops and their build quality. This laptop is not inferior to any of the above laptops and can be your choice for video editing and casual gaming if you are searching for the best laptop under 1 lakh.

  • Great speakers.
  • Well structured keyboard and touchpad
  • RGB keyboard
  • Superb for video editing

Lenovo Legion 5i 10th Gen Intel Core i7 15.6 inch Full HD Gaming Laptop (8GB/1TB HDD + 256GB SSD/Windows 10/120 Hz/NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 Graphics/Phantom Black/2.3Kg) : Value for money!

Best laptop under 1 lakh in India | Lenovo Legion 5i 10th Gen Intel Core i7 15.6 inch

We’re taking a look at the legion 5i, a mid-range device in the Lenovo laptop lineup and Intel powers this particular one; there’s an AMD version available as well.

Build quality

The weight on this one is 5.42 pounds or 2.46 kilograms, a little on the heavier side. It’s all plastic, but it feels like a high-quality plastic. You’ve got a nice range to the hinge; you can push it all the way back. It just feels nice and reliable, and I’m sure the weight adds to that feeling of solidness.

For ports we’ve got a bunch of them so on the left-hand side here we’ve got a USB 3.0 port and a headphone jack. You can also use Bluetooth, of course. On the right side, you’ve got another USB 3.0 port. Lenovo is continuing their design where they’ve got many ports on the back and then what they do is give you the label for those ports above them.

So, it’s effortless to get a lot of stuff plugged in and keep those cables out of the way. On the back, we’ve got Gigabit Ethernet and a USB type-c port, but it’s not Thunderbolt. The USB C port does support display output, so you’re able to get 4k displays working without too many issues, but the USB C port does not support power in. You’ve got two more USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI output, and power input port on the right.

RAM and storage

This one has an i7 10th generation Intel chip. It has an NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 GPU. There is 8GB of RAM here this was configured in the single-channel configuration it won’t impact performance all that much, but you might want to buy a second module to fill it out and get to 16GB and give yourself some dual-channel performance in the process.

What’s also nice about this is that you have an option for a second hard drive, so the one that we’ve got here came with a 256GB SSD. You can add a second NVMe SSD if you want. So you have a decent amount of storage upgradeability on this which is excellent. Games are getting larger and larger, so it’s nice to see some additional NVMe options available to you on this laptop.

You’ve got a lot of different display options on this. The one that we have on this one is a 1080p 15-inch Anti-Glare display running at 120 Hertz. This is the entry-level display. It’s running at about 250 nits of brightness. The display is IPS. It has got decent viewing angles, looks nice and sharp.

The brightness is adequate to me here at this 250nits level, but you might want something brighter they do have more colourful options available so you can get a 300 nits display. The pricing on these displays will vary as you look at your different options.

CPU and GPU performance

As mentioned earlier, This variant of Lenovo Legion 5i comes with i7 10th gen processor and GTX 1650Ti 4GB graphics card. Lenovo has provided three performance modes in this laptop, performance, balanced and quiet mode. The performance mode gives you maximum CPU and GPU performance, and you need the power cable plugged in.

This mode is used if you are playing heavy games or doing 4K video editing. Normally you would keep the laptop on the balance mode. The quiet mode reduces the performance and fan speeds significantly but gives you long battery life. This mode is used if you are using the laptop for casual stuff.

Coming to the CPU performance, you can edit a 10-minute 4k video in just 12 minutes which is impressive. There is a setting to enable performance mode when launching games automatically. As far as the gaming is concerned, you can play Fortnite at the medium setting with frame rates of 70-105 per second. Rocket league max settings at 100 frames per second. So this laptop can handle most games at medium settings and some games even at high settings.

Keyboard and touchpad

You’ve got a superior rubberized coating on the keyboard deck, making it feel more premium. Nice big trackpad here feels nice to navigate around. It is very sensitive. I love the keyboard on this one really deep travel on the keys. It’s got just a nice tactile feel, and it’s got the same keyboard shape and layout that we’ve seen on other Lenovo laptops. They have made the arrow keys bigger than prior editions. You have a number pad here as well.

Battery and charging time

Lenovo Legion 5i is power by a 4-cell 60-watt hours battery. It has an average battery life of 6.8 hours on normal usage. On medium to heavy use, the battery will last from 4-5 hours.
It’s got one of the Lenovo 230W power supplies, but they’ve made it a little bit smaller this year. This fast charger can charge the laptop to 50% in just 30 minutes.

On the speakers front you get 2 x 2W Harman Speakers at the bottom. Their volume is not very loud, but not very low either. You will get decent amount of bass. All in all, you will not be disappointed.

My recommendation

I think overall you get a nice laptop here. Suppose you want more features like an even brighter display and Thunderbolt and some of the other things on some of the more premium devices that’s where you might want to look at the Légion 7. It’s nice that the Légion 5 has added some missing features in last year’s mid-range model altogether. This laptop is something I am comfortable recommending this as the best laptop under 1 lakh.

  • Very good display
  • Fast charging times
  • Great performance
  • Well spaced out keyboard and touchpad
  • Performance mode to play heavy games
  • Value for money
  • Little heavy
  • Poor battery life ( fast charging makes up for it)
  • Less RAM out of the box

Best laptop under 1 lakh in India | MSI Gaming GL65 Leopard, Intel 9th Gen. i7-9750H

Now we have the MSI’s GL65 Leopard with the 9th gen i7 9750H and the NVIDIA GeForce 1660Ti. This is a laptop designed, keeping the gamers taste in mind. From 1660Ti to the brilliant RGB and a well-built keyboard, you get it all. Let’s have a look at the various components.

Build quality and ports

This laptop has this nice gold trim all on the outside edge and the logo and the trackpad, and while it looks nice. On the left side, you have this fantastic looking exhaust vent. There is an ethernet port two USB-A ports and then here’s something that’s unique to the MSI g65 laptop you’ve got the headphone and microphone jack, and the reason for that is because MSI includes a dedicated DAC for your headphones.

Moving to the right side, you’ve got another USB type-A, USB type-c/mini DisplayPort, and HDMI out, which supports 4k at 60 Hertz, and then you’ve got an AC adapter port. At the bottom, you’ve got these rubber pads, which provide a ton of grip. The build is plastic, but it’s a great build.

RAM and Storage

This notebook comes preinstalled with 16GB DDR4 RAM expandable up to 64GB which is excellent. MSI have provided 512GB NVMe SSD which works fast but that is all you get for storage. You can install another HDD or SATA SSD to expand the storage.

Keyboard and trackpad

This keyboard has individually addressable RGB lights, and it’s bright it’s vibrant, but it’s a little bit sloppy because there’s a lot of bleep from underneath the keys. It’s not as clean as, let’s say, on my razor blade 15 or on the Logitech keyboard that I own but still pretty good nonetheless.

The moment I started typing, I will admit this became my favorite keyboard on any gaming laptop I’ve used in my entire life, better than the gigabyte arrow 15, better than the Razor Blade 15, better than the Dell XPS. Keys take a fair amount of force to push. Because it takes a little bit more effort to press a key down, that means fewer mistakes on my part plus, the keys are a little bit bigger, meaning that it’s easier to move from a desktop keyboard to this one. On top of that, it has good feedback, and yeah, it just feels perfect on the fingers highly recommend it.

The trackpad on this laptop feels great it’s made out of glass, and it handles one finger functions to four-finger functions well. The problem is that the length and width of it are very odd, and then because it’s not centered, that causes issues as well. For starters, if you’re using the two-finger scroll because the width of it is very short, you find yourself running out of space very quickly.

CPU and GPU performance

Here’s what this laptop’s performance looks like. Instead of bench 20, this thing beat out the previous generations i7 8750h and the i7 7700 K by a tiny margin with a score of 2531 in Geek bench.

In terms of games, these are the FPS we got at Ultra settings.

Battlefield V – 93 FPS

Overwatch – 122 FPS

Apex legends – 70 FPS

In the cooling department, this laptop does not do a great job of keeping itself cool. This laptop can spike up to mid-80s to 90 degrees Celsius on the CPU, even with moderately demanding tasks. Even a not super resource-intensive game like overwatch causes the CPU to spike to 100 degrees. So, it would be best if you kept this in mind before choosing this one. You can also overclock the CPU to 4 gigahertz with the pre-installed MSI app. Overall the performance is superb, but the heating issue may bother you.

In terms of the screen, it’s got a 144 Hertz IPS panel, which means your games are going to look buttery smooth. It’s color accurate. It covers 90% of the SRGB scale, 76% of the Adobe RGB, and 71% of the NTSC scale, which means good news for creators. It’s a brilliant display for both video editing and gaming

Speakers are located on the bottom. There is not much bass due to down-firing speakers, but it gets deafening as nobody asked for this thing to be this loud. What is impressive is that it almost doesn’t distort at 100% volume. In short, you will be impressed with the audio quality, and won’t need the external speakers.

battery life the battery life on this thing is excellent no matter what you do. So, at stock settings, I found myself getting about three and a half to four hours of the battery without touching anything. This is where MSI’s app comes into play. If you open it up, and then you go to the battery section, it has many presets, and there’s one preset called meeting mode. Once you enable the meeting mode, it down clocks to CPU cores down to about 1.2 gigahertz, which is almost a quarter of the performance that your laptop should be getting, increasing the battery life upto 6 hours

Why should you choose this laptop?

You can choose this laptop if you are performance-centric and do not care much about little overheating. Select the laptop if you frequently edit videos or play heavy gaming titles or want a superb keyboard and trackpad.

You should not get this laptop if you want to play heavy games and still get great battery life. We can solve this by keeping the laptop plugged in a while playing the games. In totality, I would recommend this laptop any day. This is easily the best laptop under 1 lakh for gamers.
